Privacy notice
This notice explains what we collect, why, who helps us handle it and your choices under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
QuickScope is a Bascorp product based in Pretoria, South Africa. Contact us about this website or your personal information at hello@quickscope.club. Our Legal & Company Information page brings our contact details together.
This notice covers the public marketing website and the requests and enquiries sent through its contact form. It does not describe the handling of staff or customer records inside the separate QuickScope app.
What we collect
- Contact form: your email address is required so we can reply. Your name, business name and the text of your enquiry are optional. Without an email address, we cannot reply.
- Request and security details: the referring page, browser information, network address and submission time help us operate the form and prevent spam.
- Messages: information you choose to send when you contact us.
- Optional visit statistics: the activity described below, only if you allow it.
You provide form details directly. Your browser and the network supplying the page provide technical information. The hosting and infrastructure services also process request details to deliver and protect the website.
Why we use it
| Purpose | Information | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Replying to your request or enquiry, including early access and quotes | Email, any name or business details and any enquiry you write | Your consent when you contact us |
| Delivering the website and preventing abuse | Request and security details | Our legitimate interest in operating a safe service |
| Understanding how the website is used | Optional visit statistics | Your optional statistics consent |
| Responding to lawful requests | Relevant records | A legal obligation where one applies |
An early-access request asks us to contact you about QuickScope's launch. It does not subscribe you to unrelated news or offers. You can stop these messages by emailing hello@quickscope.club. We do not sell your information.
How we count visits
If you choose Allow optional, we count pages viewed, time on the site, button use, early-access submissions and technical errors. We also receive approximate country, region and city, a broad device and browser category, language, referring website and campaign tags. For a sample of visits, we record tap positions and scroll depth to improve page layout.
Random browser and session identifiers connect these events and distinguish returning visits. This is not fully anonymous information. The statistics records do not contain your name, email address, the contents of form fields, your full browser-identifying string or your network address. Infrastructure still processes network addresses to deliver requests. We do not use these statistics for advertising or to follow you across other websites.
A daily cleanup removes statistics events older than 400 days and visit records that have been inactive for 400 days. You can stop future collection through Cookie settings in any footer. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals switch optional collection off.
Who sees it
Service providers help with hosting and infrastructure, storage, security, email delivery and statistics. They receive information needed for those tasks and must protect it. We may share relevant records with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal rights.
Information processed outside South Africa
Some providers store or process information outside South Africa, including in the United States and Europe. Such transfers must be protected by applicable law or binding agreements providing safeguards similar to South African law, or another basis permitted by POPIA section 72.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form details and correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request, follow up with you or meet a legal obligation. You can ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep. We explain any records that must be retained. Optional statistics follow the 400-day period above; browser storage lasts until its stated expiry or you clear it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information. No online service can be completely secure. If a security incident affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.
Your rights
- Ask whether we hold information about you and request a copy.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information or delete information we have no lawful reason to keep.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation, and object to direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent without affecting lawful processing before withdrawal.
- Complain to the Information Regulator.
Requests and objections are free: email hello@quickscope.club. No special form is required. We may need to check your identity before releasing or changing a record. We will respond in writing to correction or deletion requests within 30 days. If a copy of records attracts a fee permitted by law, we will explain it before charging.
